Overview
Osvaldo Carretta enters the stage with a bowler hat pulled down over his ears. Those who know their theatre history recognise something immediately — there is something ancient and familiar in that eccentric, decadent character.
Maraviglia delle Meraviglie is above all an actor's show. The acts — eccentric circus skills, conjuring, floor acrobatics and the astonishing and elusive Russian barre — are accessories and pretexts to support the script, bring to life lazzi, improvisations and comic moments in constant dialogue with the audience.
Written and performed by Stefano Corrina, the show carries the comic traditions of the travelling artists of the Commedia dell'Arte, revisited in a modern key and combined with circus skills and theatrical improvisation.
